History
Caesar salad was invented by Italian-Mexican restaurateur Caesar Cardini in Tijuana in 1924. The original recipe had no chicken — it was added later. Today it is one of the most popular salads in the world.

Preparation
1Grill or bake chicken breast, slice it.
2Cube bread, fry with garlic and oil until crispy — these are croutons.
3Make dressing: whisk yolk, mustard, lemon juice, gradually drizzling in oil.
4Tear lettuce into large pieces by hand.
5Arrange lettuce on a plate, add chicken and croutons.
6Drizzle with dressing, sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
⏱ Cook time: 30 min
Tips
Classic Caesar uses egg-based dressing, not mayonnaise.
