History

Horiatiki (village salad) is a traditional Greek dish of coarsely chopped vegetables with feta and olives. In Greece it is never tossed — feta is placed as a whole block on top and drizzled with oil.

Ingredients

Tomatoes3 pc
Bell pepper1 pc
Red onion1/2 pc
Feta150g
Olive oil3 tbsp
Oregano1 tsp

Preparation

1Cut vegetables into large chunks.
2Slice onion into thin half-rings.
3Arrange vegetables on a plate.
4Place feta as one whole block on top.
5Add olives, drizzle with oil.
6Sprinkle with oregano. Do not toss!

⏱ Cook time: 10 min

Tips

Don't cut the vegetables small — the original calls for large chunks.
Use sheep's milk feta — it's firmer and saltier.
