History

The smoothie bowl originated in cafes in Brazil and Hawaii as a variation of the acai bowl. With the rise of Instagram culture in 2015-2017, the dish became a global trend due to its photogenic appearance.

Ingredients

Frozen banana2 pc

Preparation

1Slice bananas and freeze in advance (at least 4 hours).
2Blend frozen bananas, blueberries, and yogurt until thick and creamy.
3Pour into a deep bowl.
4Top with granola, chia seeds, coconut flakes, and honey.
5Serve immediately while cold.

Tips

A smoothie bowl should be thick like ice cream. If too runny, add more frozen bananas. Do not add too much liquid when blending.
