History
Waldorf salad was created in 1896 by maître d'hôtel Oscar Tschirky at New York's Waldorf-Astoria hotel. The original contained only apples, celery, and mayonnaise. Walnuts were added later.

Preparation
1Dice the apples and celery into small cubes.
