History
Maki rolls (makizushi) are a Japanese dish of rice with fillings wrapped in nori seaweed. They came to Russia in the 2000s and became one of the most popular delivery foods. Philadelphia and California rolls are American inventions.
Ingredients
Sushi rice300g
Nori4 sheets
Fish (salmon/tuna)200g
Cucumber1 pc
Avocado1 pc
Rice vinegar3 tbsp
Soy saucefor serving
Wasabi, gingerfor serving
Preparation
1Cook rice, season with rice vinegar. Let cool.
2Place nori on a bamboo mat, shiny side down.
3Spread rice in a thin layer, leaving 1 cm at the top.
4Lay filling in a strip across the center.
5Roll tightly using the mat.
6Slice into 6–8 pieces with a wet knife.
⏱ Cook time: 50 min
Tips
Dip your hands in water mixed with vinegar — the rice won't stick.
Wet the knife before slicing too.
